Jake and I spent the past weekend exploring Park City and it was wonderful. I’ve been to Utah a few times before, but had never made it to Park City. I’m so glad I finally made it!
We checked into our Airbnb Friday night and it turned out to be in the perfect location. If you’re looking for a place to stay, we stayed here and had a great time! It’s about a 5 minute walk to the ski resort and about 10 minutes to the restaurants and shops on Main Street.
On Saturday morning, we woke up, rented gear, and made our way to the mountain. It was my first time back on a snowboard since 2009 so I was a little bit nervous to get going. Luckily it was a gorgeous day which helped to ease my nerves.
Here’s the view from the summit lodge so you can see just how gorgeous it was! The weather was mid 30s-40s and sunny, which I loved.
When we woke up on Sunday it was snowing outside, which was so fun coming from Texas! The snow made for a little less visibility on the mountain while we were skiing and made it a lot colder. We braved the cold and stayed on the slopes ’til a little after 5 thanks to Park City’s late hours.
I think my favorite part of the whole trip was just getting the chance to see what a cool city Park City is. I’m used to skiing in Tahoe where you’ll get to the ski village and take a gondola up to the lodge, so I was amazed by how close the slopes in Park City are to the town. They’re seriously in the town! One lift is called “Town Lift” and you can get on right at the start of Main Street and it takes you all the way up the mountain! Below is a picture I took of Town Lift from the street.
It’s the cutest little town – it’s like a real live winter wonderland!
Jake and I ended-up bringing some matching shoes on the trip and they worked out perfectly. Sometimes I feel a little silly buying cold weather gear knowing I live in Texas, but I can say (for both of us) that these boots were totally worth it. I ordered mine back in September because they go out of stock every winter, but Jake got lucky and was able to ship his just in time for the trip. You can find Jake’s pair here and mine here.
All in all it was an awesome trip and I can’t wait to go back. Jake and I kept saying we wish we could’ve stayed the whole week! There’s always next time 🙂
Where’s your favorite winter getaway?
xxo,
Kristen
