I love making smoothies for breakfast on weekend mornings. I never have enough time during the week to make them before work, so to me, making smoothies is a weekend treat.
I’ve experimented with a few different smoothie styles over the years and have had a lot of failures and flops. As it turns out, making a healthy smoothie that tastes good is not actually as easy as it seems.
… UNTIL NOW! I finally found the best secret smoothie ingredient that promises a yummy smoothie every time. Grapefruit juice! Not the kind from a carton, but fresh squeezed, from the fruit, grapefruit juice.
It adds the perfect kick to your smoothie to cover-up your greens and protein powder.
My smoothie recipe varies depending on what I have on hand, but here’s what a pretty regular smoothie looks like for me.
3/4 cup frozen fruit
1 scoop Raw Protein powder
1-2 cups spinach
1TB Flax Seed
1TB Hemp Seed
1TB Chia Seed
Juice from 1/2-1 whole grapefruit
Blend and enjoy!
